Bored At School! ~ ?

Eamonn, Shrivats, Kaushik and I are sitting in the school's IT Centre doing 'precisely nothing' - as Shrivats put it. Youtube, and Miniclip are our sustainers - and I have exposed these naive twins to the beauty of the internet (or Youtube). They are quite fascinated by some of the videos we saw. ;)

So if you, are ever bored, sitting in your school's 'IT Center'. Here is some really funny stuff you can watch - if you have not already!

If you, like me, fell for the infamous Nike ad, when Ronaldinho hit the bar four times on a trot -you need to watch this!

Enjoy!

excellent find!! and the resemblence to ronaldinho is uncanny! although i still believe he DID hit the bar and it wasn't a trick! i doubt he'd fake it! i mean that way even Nistelrooy would make a video of him scoring from a distance of more than 2 feet! oh and take a look at www.nikefootball.com . there's an excellent new cantona video on!
once again, excellent post anish!

However harry i find it hard to believe that u still feel that Ronaldinho hit the bar four times in a row! Thats insane - its perfection!
here's the link for those who havent seen it:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aRHk8ol0vTw&search=ronaldinho%20bar

if ronalidinho was that skillful, he would be scoring 3 goals a game - if thats the number of shots he takes. Being a footballer, to strike a ball with that amount of precision and with that amount of success rate is impossible. Even football's most gifted players find it hard to score 4 times in a row with a sweet volley, leave alone hitting the bar 4 times in a row intentfully.

Yes the nike video has been shot really smartly, and the atmosphere and the direction makes it seem real - but its clearly semi-fake. USing ronaldinho as a protagnist does add to the fact that it could be real - but its not.

Here's a random person 'spoofing' ronaldinho:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=kxXIZglZtZw&search=ronaldinho%20spoof

Also note, that in the original video, three players (who are apparently suposed to be brazilian players training) are doing the same three passes all throughout the video, and jsut throwing glances at ronaldinho - which is clear acting!

So please dont jump to such conclusions!

harry if u took science... u would knw it is impossible to do that... without aiming and without a run up and hell without even looking. it was a perfect show to fool us. Harry u r just stupid.
just think abt it if he is so fine an aimer , then why don't all his shots turn out to become goals. Harry it is impossible.

all i'm saying is Ronaldinho hardly needs to make a doctored video to validate himself! he's the best! we all know it! also, those players are barcelona players and yes they probably are put there strategically for the effect of a practice session, NOT to cheat us but simply for the ambience, if you will! also, the shots he take are in a relaxed environment and you know pressure in a game totally changes the way you shoot. they aren't even incredibly powerful shots i mean they'e just lobs which is probably why his crosses are so awesome! and by the way, 12 goals and 8 assists in 20 games seems like a pretty decent record...qute near perfect!

i am sorry , but i am sure he wouldn't mind. Any way did he agree or not?

Harry, that stats you gave are no where near perfect - are u saying that Ronaldinho took only 12 shots in 20 games and scored each one?

Look why would he do this? - well because Nike made him - because they paid him enough and because he endorses the brand! Plus i bet he must have enjoyed - its just a ad, whether its real or not, as long as it thrills - it rocks! and i think its a very smart ad!

he did it in open play? so he would have no pressure? thats what you claim! but camera pressure is second only to crowd pressure - because ultimately the world is gonna see it again and again!

its a great gimic - look its got us talking so much about it, but its impossible.
